What the evidence actually says
Sulfur is the thinnest-evidenced active here even on its own; Cochrane found it lacked adequate trial data for conclusions, and the AAD guideline lists it under insufficient evidence. One controlled trial of a combined benzoyl peroxide and precipitated sulfur cream exists, from 1966, and its results are not retrievable from any index we can reach. There is no documented chemical incompatibility.
So how should you actually use them?
Both are drying and keratolytic, so additive irritation is the practical concern. There is no evidence promising you extra benefit from stacking them.
